Many people have now asked how to paint there body kit in the same colour as the car body.
So i thought i would let my gaurd down and show you all how it should be done , stage by stage.
The first thing you will be needing is a mask and a set of gloves.

The first step is to take off your wheel arch kit , bumpers and side sills.
Nothing can be painted on the body.
The only thing that will require masking is the door opening badge.(cooper s , 7,cooper , one or in my case GP)
It should be then placed on a table of some kind and prepared for paint.

Step 2:
Sand down the kit with P500 paper SLOWLY (as not to cause static electricity)
Your aim is to matt down the plastic, and NOT to take away the "STRUKTUR"

step 3 :
clean the part that you have just sanded.
The sanding process should have taken 5min per object.

step 4:
Plastic primer is the most important stage.
This is applied with a spray gun, and takes about 30 sec to dry.
2 coats of this is needed.
Primer cost is 982:- per Lt

Step 5 :
SLIP GRUND
it is what it says, this is why you do not need to sand too much on the plastic.
2 coats of this is needed and takes around 24 Hrs to dry.

Sep 6 :
Sand down all of the parts with P800 paper until very smooth.
if you have a silver car you must sand down with P1000.

the finished product looks like this:

Two to three coats of paint (colour of car body)
and two coats of klarlak later and it SHOULD look like this:

all of this should be done in a air controled enviroment.
When painting a "SPRAY SUIT" is needed and mask.
ps: dont FART in the suit they are air tite:woot:

Interresting, i would like a guide how to fill in "stenskott" with the little bottles you can buy from BMW.

I filled one "stenskott" with paint and took away the extra paint but it looked worse than before.....

do you put the plastic in the oven first?

Jag har sett bilar som är nerlackade med t.ex. Chili Red. Men du säger att det inte ser bra ut? Hur har de då burit sig åt för att få det bra?
Edit: Glömde säga att din guide var grym! Blev sugen på att lacka ner bilen bara för att jag vet hur man gör. :p
no i meen IMO it dosent look good .............itr just looks wrong!

Det ska väl sitta någon klisterlapp på din bil som anger det ?
Titta under tex huven då BMW brukar sätta dit sin lapp där.

A28 heter den. Har lackat ner min hos Paul, vilket givetvis ledde till ett toppenresultat.

Och typ A28 var ändå fel svar..
Det finns 7 färgnyanser av A28. (enligt lackfirman som jag gick till)
Bilen måste visas för lackeraren.
Jag har redan lackat mitt på bilen..

Ser cool ut med det vita på trösklen! Skärmen är i bilens färg eller hur? Lite svårt att se på bilden...
The arches are in the cars colour and the sills are in the roofs colour........it looks really coooooooool!!!!
